Now Us, Now You

It’s play to split and fuse like this.
It could be a game, but it’s not,

So long as there’s no fringe, no rim,
No line to know what’s real or not,

No rules of play. We can do this.
It’s hard to see a game as real

As the world that is not a game,
But so long as you don’t, you’re in

The game you want to call less real,
And the world past the edge can’t be

The more real you want it to be,
If you don’t let it in the game

And cede that no side of the line
You drew, now us, now you, can be

More or less real but as a game,
And games are no more or less real.
