Where a child read
Books to know God.
This was not mine.

Not my house, not
My child, not me.
This was a scene
Set in the woods.

God’s known to haunt
Small homes in woods,
But worse, these woods
Were in the house.

The child was lost.
Her name was Eve.
God cried from books.
Books came from trees.
